Hunted returning to Channel 4 in September 2016

Channel 4’s real-life thriller Hunted will return next year – with £100,000 in prize money for anyone who manages to escape capture.

The new series will once again see ordinary Brits leave their life behind and attempt to outwit, outsmart and outrun former police, intelligence and army personnel for up to 28 days.

This time, if successful they could win a share of £100,000. But if they are caught before the hunt ends, they go home with nothing.

Series one competitors did it for the pride, with no reward for the four competitors who beat the experts. But even without a financial incentive, the series managed to attract an average of 2.2 million viewers per episode and a 9.3% share on Thursdays at 9pm, according to Channel 4.

“The first series of Hunted truly caught the nation’s imagination, provoking real debate around the lengths we might go to in order to avoid capture in 21st century Britain,” said C4 head of formats Dom Bird.

“Now, with a life changing sum of money to play for, it gets serious. I can’t wait to see both the fugitives and the hunters raise their game as they battle each other’s wits to emerge triumphant.”

Also confirmed, Reality TV Warriors will be podcasting the second season of Hunted
